End Up and what it means to me

End Up…….
The place we end up. The place where we are right now. The people who surround us and the collaborations that just happen so naturally with these people. In the last month, I’ve collaborated with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 people….wow….and the list continues to grow. I write songs on my own, but I do not find anything more energizing than a great collaboration where two, three minds meet and make something so unique to the moment that they are in. I had this moment at our show last week at Magnetic Field where two hands met in a high five, where I had a small revelation. Josh and Bryan and I were discussing woozily the energy that springs from a high five. The energies of both parties collide and in this collision a combined energy emerges. That sounds like drunk talk, but I tell you what…It felt good to high five and it feels good to make something with someone else. I could go on for a long long time about all the great collaborations in art, music, and so on, but I’m not going to. One mastermind is good, but you put two, three of those together and something magical happens that I can’t really explain.

So this thing that we’re creating here at End Up is something like that and so much more. We have this family here in Brooklyn and it extends further and further everyday. With this family, we are looking to bring together all the minds once a month in a party, well, not so much a party as a collaboration potluck. It’s like Sunday family dinner. We break bread and talk about what we’ve been doing and show everyone what we’ve been doing and then we make something together. Well, at least that’s what I want it to be. We’ve only had one, but we plan to have many many more. If you’re in the family, in the extended family, I’m sure you’ll find yourself breaking bread with us at one point or another.

Well, I think that’s all I have to say about End Up right now. I’ll come back to you later with more food for thought. Ok.
